Get back in touch with the Earth to heal

Earthing is the simple solution to reduce and prevent inflammation

Earthing first introduced readers to the landmark discovery that living in contact with the Earth’s natural surface charge—being “grounded”—naturally discharges and prevents chronic inflammation in the body. This effect has massive health implications because of the well-established link between chronic inflammation and all chronic diseases, including the diseases of aging, and the aging process itself.

The 2010 edition of Earthing created a major buzz in the health world and has been translated into more than a dozen languages. Now, it has been revised and updated with new research and doctors’ commentaries.

Throughout history, humans have maintained an electrical ground connection with the Earth that naturally curbed inflammation disorders in the body. We walked barefoot and slept directly on the Earth. We were, at all times, naturally charged with the healing energy of the Earth. Today, however, we mostly live and work insulated from the Earth. We wear nonconductive shoes with synthetic soles, walk on carpeted floors, and sleep in elevated beds. We rarely go barefoot outside. We’re disconnected. Consequently, our bodies become chronically charged with inflammation.

Earthing is the simple solution to reduce and prevent inflammation, and is as easy as being barefoot outdoors or sleeping, working, and relaxing indoors on conductive products that conveniently ground your body to the Earth. This book documents how grounding the body consistently produces these and other benefits:

Rapid reduction of inflammation
Rapid reduction or elimination of chronic pain
Dynamic blood flow improvement
Reduced stress
Increased energy
Improved sleep
Accelerated healing from injuries and surgery without the burning inflammatory pain
Earthing is a missing link in the health equation. This book tells why and what to do about it.

Awaken your Warrior Goddess inside

Meet the pioneer who pushed through federal and state legislation ensuring that breast reconstruction after a mastectomy would be paid for by insurance companies. Dr. Christine Horner lost her own mother to breast cancer. She decided then that her mother's death would not be in vain.

Using the metaphor of the Warrior Goddess, Horner wrote a bestselling book that is now in its third edition. In Waking the Warrior Goddess, she explains what Ayurveda, an ancient system of healing, describes as our "inner healing intelligence." She also explores the various foods and supplements that enable women to prevent and successfully fight breast cancer, as they claim the healthy body that should be theirs.

In "The Spiritual Journey of Breast Cancer," Horner describes why cancer is a wake-up call, a time-out in which women can turn inward to evaluate their lives with the intent to restore good health and learn how to receive, allow, trust, and surrender as they cultivate their relationship with their intuition and a higher power.

The final part of Waking the Warrior Goddess presents Horner's 30-Step Program for reclaiming health and defeating breast cancer. In addition, this book includes an extensive, newly updated resources section for obtaining the particular nutrients and products that our bodies need to become and stay strong and healthy. We each have a Warrior Goddess in us, and it's time to set her free.

Check out this informative television interview, where Michele Gillen, chief investigative reporter from WFOR-TV in Miami, interviews Horner about her passion for life and protecting women against breast cancer...

It's time to get your barefoot on

When was the last time you went barefoot? Think about it...chances are it's been years. Has it also been a long time since you've felt really good too? It's time to get back in touch with your Earth – feel it on your toes and the health benefits will amaze you.

Walking barefoot, also known as "earthing," has gone from being a hippie trend, to a scientifically-researched practice with a number of remarkable health advantages, such as increasing antioxidants, reducing inflammation, and improving sleep.

Earthing means walking barefoot on soil, grass or sand. So we’ll have to get off the sidewalk. Early studies are showing that the health benefits come from the relationship between our bodies and the electrons in the earth. The planet has its own natural charge, and we seem to do better when we’re in direct contact with it.

A review published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health looked at a number of studies that highlight how drawing electrons from the earth improves health. In one, chronic pain patients using grounded carbon fiber mattresses slept better and experienced less pain. Another study found that earthing changed the electrical activity in the brain, as measured by electroencephalograms. Still, other research found that grounding benefitted skin conductivity, moderated heart rate variability, improved glucose regulation, reduced stress and boosted immunity.

One particularly compelling investigation, published in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, found that earthing increases the surface charge of red blood cells. As a result, the cells avoid clumping, which decreases blood viscosity. High viscosity is a significant factor in heart disease, which is why so many people take blood thinning aspirin each day to improve their heart health. Another study in the same journal found that earthing may help regulate both the endocrine and nervous systems.

The breakthrough-book, Earthing, introduces readers to the landmark discovery that living in contact with the Earth’s natural surface charge—being “grounded”—naturally discharges and prevents chronic inflammation in the body. This effect has massive health implications because of the well-established link between chronic inflammation and all chronic diseases, including the diseases of aging, and the aging process itself.

We wear non-conductive shoes with synthetic soles, walk on carpeted floors, and sleep in elevated beds. We rarely go barefoot outside. We’re disconnected. Consequently, our bodies become chronically charged with inflammation.

Earthing is the simple yet powerful solution to reduce and prevent inflammation, and is as easy as being barefoot outdoors or sleeping, working, and relaxing indoors on conductive products that conveniently ground your body to the Earth. This book documents how grounding the body consistently produces these and other benefits:

• Rapid reduction of inflammation
• Rapid reduction or elimination of chronic pain
• Dynamic blood flow improvement
• Reduced stress
• Increased energy
• Improved sleep
• Accelerated healing from injuries and surgery without the burning inflammatory pain.

Earthing was a huge success when it was first published in 2010. Now in its second edition, it contains even more valuable information, which offers a missing link in the health equation. The authors tell why and what to do about it.
